Happy New Year!!

I really can't believe it's already 2010...how did that happen so fast? I remember in 2000 celebrating the New Year with my Aunt Gigi and my sister and friends we met there. Worried what was going to happen when it changed over to 2000 haha. Back then I was 13 and wow so much has changed. Since then I have had 3 wonderful little boys, met the love of my life and best friend in the entire world and many other small great things have happened. Some hard times too....loosing my dad in 2008 being the biggest. But overall as I look back over the past 10yrs it's been pretty great, I hope the next 10 measure up and surpass that.

This past year has been pretty tough. Nov 2007 Mark lost his job and things got bad, not with us but just money wise and stress. It took what seemed like forever for him to find a job. We had to move from Colorado, the one place we wanted to live the rest of our lives back to Texas. Move Landon out of his school and away from the first real friends he made on his own. But we made it through and we are a stronger family for it. Mark has a better job than he's ever had before and we are doing better than ever. I guess I can "thank" Kat for that...but I still better not ever run into her again. I hope this next year is much better than the past one!

We have alot to do this month coming up, we have a month exactly now to find a house, pack and move, which means moving Landon out of his school and away from these friends he's made. I hate that. But after that I hope everything else is wonderful! I have made a few resolutions for this year but I won't share them all, some are for just me. But here are a couple

1. To be a better Mom to my wonderful boys
2. Spend less time on the computer
3. Set a better schedule and get more done during the day, feel like I've accomplished more
4. Join a gym and start working out
5. Keep up with this blog more :)

That's all I'll share for now but I hope this time next year I'll be able to say I've done all of those things and much more. Here is to a wonderful 2010!!! Have a safe and happy new year!

Late night

Ugh I'm so tired of everyone being sick!!! It's been a week and a half now since it all started but it seems like it's been going on forever!!! Landon is completely better, thankfully. Hayden pretty much is, he's still not eating much and has a runny nose but other than that he's fine. I posted about our ordeal with Casen yesterday and I'm happy to report he is MUCH better...but still sick. And now Mark is getting worse. His temp is 101.5 after taking 3 ibuprofen only about 2hrs before and he feels like crap. It never ends I swear.

Tonight Mark feels so cold, to himself only! He keeps asking me to keep him warm in bed so I tried as long as I could but I was starting to sweat under all the covers up against him being so hot, plus Hayden was on the other side of me so body heat from there too. I couldn't take it anymore so I came out on the couch with Casen and left those two in there and cranked up the heat with only that vent open so hopefully that will help keep him warm.

Casen though is alot better, I can tell those breathing treatments really helped him. He isn't as worn out, I think he was so tired from not breathing so well, wearing himself out just breathing. His cough is also much better since doing them. His temp didn't get very high today. So I think he's on the road to getting better. Earlier I gave him a slice of raisin bread and he picked out all of the raisins and wouldn't eat the bread, part of it fell on the floor and I asked him to pick it up so I could vacuum. He went to pick it up and there was an ant on the floor and you would have thought he saw a HUGE spider or something with the way he reacted. He flipped out, crying, screaming the whole bit. I had him pick it up anyways...ant wasn't on it, in fact it was a good 6in away, I guess he thought it could run super fast or jump or something. But Casen has a tendency to play things over and over in his head, play things up so he worked himself up over it big time. He kept crying and wouldn't listen to calm down, also because he was tired from no nap so I had him go to his room to calm down. I vacuumed and he was still upset so I went in there and talked with him. He was so upset that he had to get that close to the ant. I told him it couldn't move that fast or jump and that he was fine nothing happened...his response..."well something could have possibly happened". Wasn't getting anywhere lol. I told him that along with my eyes on the back of my head that every mom has, we also get super hearing and when I was vacuuming I sucked the ant up and heard it screaming "nooo don't suck me up" (before this I had told him I sucked it up, he questioned how I was SURE I got it) he didn't believe me at first, but I finally convinced him lol. He truly believes I ahve eyes on the back of my head and is always randomly bringing it up asking questions about it :) But after that ordeal he had nightmares tonight about the ants and he's now on the couch asleep. See what I mean by playing it up in his head? But as I sit here writing all of this I keep hearing him grinding his teeth...it kills me!! AWFUL sound!

But now that it seems Hayden has finally fallen asleep back there with Mark I should try and sleep too, I'm sure one or two of them will be waking me up atleast once more tonight. As of now it seems my Mom body has finally figured out it is NOT allowed to get sick and hopefully it stays that way!

Trip to the ER with Casen

Well Casen hasn't been getting any better, in fact he's getting much worse. Last night before bed his temp was 102 so I gave him some Tylenol before putting him to bed. He woke me up at 5:30am and his temp was 103.7 so I gave him Motrin and he went back to bed with us. All day today he just laid around talking about how he didn't feel good. He asked to take a nap so I took him back to my bed to lay with him so he'd go to sleep easier and decided to take his temp before putting him down to see if he needed more meds and it was 105.1!!!! So I got him some Motrin and gave him that then he threw it up a few minutes later because he's started having coughing fits today where he coughs so much he can't catch his breath in between and that goes on for a good minute or two solid...well it made him throw up the medicine. So I put him in the bath and called Mark and the hospital and they said to give him Tylenol in case his body had absorbed any Motrin didn't want to risk overdosing him on it. So I did that and Mark left work to come home, he made it here pretty quick considering it was snowing already. So we took him to the ER and by the time we made it there his temp was almost normal but he was wheezing really bad so they gave him a breathing treatment and then took him for chest x-rays to check for pneumonia...luckily he didn't have that. He was still wheezing pretty bad so they gave him another breathing treatment, he is still wheezing but doing much better and it's only on one side now. They didn't exactly diagnose him with anything just said it's some upper respiratory infection and gave him a big dose of steroids to help his lungs. Then gave me a prescription for more of that, an antibiotic, inhaler and chamber/mask thing to make it easier for him to take the inhaler. We went and got all that filled...talk about expensive without insurance :|

When we got home it was about 9pm and his temp was back over 102 so I gave him a dose of Motrin and some of the inhaler and sent him to bed. I hope the breathing treatments, inhaler and steroids he has had so far start helping him some. He's already not coughing as much which is good. Hopefully he sleeps better tonight, he didn't sleep very good at all last night. He'll start more steroids and the antibiotic tomorrow morning. They said to rotate Tylenol and Motrin every 4hrs for the first 24hrs, and inhaler ever 4hrs for first 24hrs then as needed for both. I hope he's back to normal soon, poor kid has been sick too long :(

Our Christmas

So Christmas is over for another year....makes me kind of sad, I really enjoyed preparing for and having Christmas this year. Too bad we all got sick for it :(

I think we went a bit crazy this year but we justified it, the boys have been through hell this past year with us, with that b**** causing Mark to loose his job and everything that went with that, money issues and all, us having to take Landon out of his first year of school and move him back to TX which he wants to be back in CO, taking Casen out of preschool to move here and then not being able to put him back in, just everything...it has not been a good year for us. Luckily things are much better now and Mark has a great job and we are doing wonderfully. So yeah, that's our justification...THEY DESERVED IT!

They were so happy and that's what matters, no to some it isn't about the gifts but to us that is what Christmas is. It's not religious, it's family, love, traditions, Santa and gifts...and this year it was all of that and more...perfect.

Santa brought Landon a remote control tank that shoots BB's...what was he thinking?!?!?! Actually they have done really well and know not to shoot each other and are really careful with it. He also got tons of Halo lego sets so he was thrilled, that's what he wanted more than anything. Now we just need to find some type of glue to keep them all together, they come apart too easily and they are hard to get put back together the right way. Any ideas? He also got an art kit, glow dome and some other arts and crafts stuff...I was kind of surprised how much he loved that, he is really getting into drawing now, I wonder if he will get as good as my brother, I doubt it...he's awesome but maybe he'll take after him. He got lots of clothes and other toys too. He thanked us countless times since then for everything, he's such a good boy...I think we're doing a good job with that one :) Can you believe in a little over 3 mo he's going to be seven years old...SEVEN!!!!! How did that happen so fast?

Santa brought Casen an art desk..how perfect is that?! He got TONS of art supplies and kits from us and Grandma too. His one thing he wanted more than anything was a cupcake maker...Nonnie came through with that. After opening all of his gifts Christmas morning he was very happy with them all but did say in a very sad voice that Santa didn't bring the one thing he asked for, the cupcake maker. After Nonnie got there and he opened that we told him "see Santa just knew Nonnie had bought it and got you something else he knew you'd love" and he does love that art desk. I see many days in our future of him sitting there all day long working on workbooks, coloring, writing....he loves doing that. He's so calm and quiet...so very different from his brothers lol. He also got the other thing he really wanted, a race track. His Christmas was complete!

Hayden got a tricycle from Santa which has been a huge hit with all three of them. It hasn't been used outside yet, once it has it will always be an outside toy so we are waiting for awhile, but for now they are riding it around the kitchen, around the table and island..over and over. They give each other rides and Hayden can actually fit on it!!!! The first ever bike/trike he can reach the pedals, my poor short legged thing haha. He has even learned to pedal it fully on his own, not bad for 2. He got some other great toys like Monty Rex, a chicco remote control car, a train track from Nonnie (geotrax which we have tons of so we can make a huge track with) and also a Thomas starter kit from Grandma, which I love. I think for his birthday if he's still really into it we might do a train table and some more Thomas wooden train sets. He also got tons of clothes. Great gifts all around

For mommy I got some perfume I have been wanting, tons of VS body wash that smells great!, a new pink Canon camera for me to keep on me since my SLR isn't exactly easy to throw in the diaper bag/purse and keep on me all the time, then some clothes. Me and Mark have never really been able to do things for each other, much less other family, it's always about the boys, it was so nice to be able to give each other gifts this year. I got him a nice new Skil drill and a big kit with tons of bits, some pjs, clothes and a new wallet. He loves it all...I did good haha. We got our parents and siblings things too, it was great. I hope every Christmas from now on is as good.

We had dinner that night at our house and had family over. We went to his dad's house on Christmas Eve. And guess what else happened on Christmas Eve?!?!?!!! IT SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!! YES in Texas, it snowed!!! We had a white Christmas, can you believe it? I still can't!!! It made it all even more perfect. I have missed Colorado so much and one of the big things was knowing we wouldn't have snow on Christmas and look we did :) Quite a bit for TX too. WE might even get more on Tues...great winter so far..hope it keeps up!

But everyone has been sick :( It started with Landon on Tues. Then Casen and Hayden started getting it but it really hit them Christmas Eve. Mark also started then. They've had fevers around 100-101 since then, so not too bad. Landon is better now, thankfully, and finally actually ate today. Mark woke me up Christmas night with the worst shakes ever, he just could not warm himself up, even wrapped under really warm blankets with me holding him, nothing worked, he was shaking head to toe so hard for over an hour. But he's been a bit better now, still sick though. This morning I woke up with a really sore throat and have just felt blah all day, I hope I don't get it as bad, but it would be just mom's luck that I would get it the day Mark is going back to work..tomorrow. I've got all 3 kids home all week since Landon doesn't go back to school until the 4th. I sure hope I don't really get sick.

Well now to start planning New Year's Eve...we've been invited to a friend's house but I'm not too sure yet, we'll see. Starting to think of New Year's Resolutions already...one will be to update on here more often

Santa Pictures

Well it was an adventure. We knew Casen was going to be scared, like he is every year so Mark made a deal with him, if he didn't cry and took a picture we would take them to get ice cream after. Well we didn't think it would be Hayden that flipped out. He's usually good with that stuff but today he freaked out. He latched to my shirt and was NOT letting go without taking it with him. So they suggested we all get in the picture...not prepared for that. Well it was our first family professional picture...EVER. Which is nice but too bad it wasn't a great one. Hayden looks terrified, Mark isn't looking at the camera, I look huge and have a stupid look on my face and Landon isn't smiling. But Casen right in the middle is smiling haha, he wanted him some ice cream.

All Christmasy Weekend

This weekend will be all about Christmas woohoo!!! Well with a bit of shopping added in :) I got a sweater at Old Navy when we went black Friday shopping and tomorrow I have to go exchange it for a SMALLER Size woohoo!!!! That's always nice. Also have to exchange 2 shirts I got from Gap, didn't notice the neckline was all the way up to the neck...not my thing. But then I'm going to another store to do some more shopping for me, hope I can find some stuff, haven't been in there in a long time but looked online and loved alot so hopefully it looks right. But then after all of that we are taking the boys to see Santa!!!!!!!!! I can't wait...I hope it's a good looking Santa because the past 3 yrs it's been the SAME Santa at the same mall, in the same chair....in Colorado :( And he looked so "real" like you really think Santa should look like, not that creepy looking guy you see in some people's pics. We are taking them to Southlake Town Square and they have this big sleigh thing set up with Santa in it so it looks like it should be good pictures, the boys can't wait. Tomorrow evening I think I'm going to have them write their letters to Santa and mail them to the North Pole (aka Mark's office) and then we are printing out some really cute letters from Santa from this site
http://www.freelettersfromsantaclaus.com/free_printable_letters_from_santa.asp

And "Santa" will be sending them back from the "North Pole" :D They are going to be thrilled to get mail just for them FROM SANTA!

Sunday we are going to put up our tree, I can't wait :D We got some new ornaments this year that I love. We got the boys each one that looks like a cookie shaped in a letter (L, C, and H) that's decorated then 2 other cute ones. I have to go by Kohls tomorrow because I saw online they have some really cute snowman ornaments one with a red hat (hayden) one with a green hat(landon), and one with a blue hat (casen) that you can put pictures in...perfect for them so I have to have them. We have a countdown going and the boys love to change the numbers each day. I'm really excited about christmas this year, I hope the boys have a wonderful Christmas :)

I'll be back with Santa pictures soon....

Yikes it's been almost a month...maybe I should update

With Landon having an entire week off for Thanksgiving and preparing for the meal at our house and Black Friday I haven't really had a chance to write, so let's see what's happened the past few weeks....

We had Thanksgiving at our house and had Mark's dad, Henry, and Mark's mom and her boyfriend, Gail and Ludwig over. It turned out good, the food was yummy, well what I could taste of it because I was still getting over being sick. The boys went with them for the night so we could go black Friday shopping. It was the first time Hayden has ever stayed the night away from me but he did fine. I missed them tons....let's just say it won't be happening again for a long time. For anyone that knows me I'm car seat crazy. That's putting it mildly. Car seats are a huge thing for me and I'm very strict about their use with my kids. Hayden is 26 mo and still rides rear facing and will for a long time yet, Casen is in a harnessed booster seat which he will remain in until he outgrows the harness and Landon is in a high back booster and will be for years to come. Well I always install their seats, whether it be in our car or anyone elses. So for their overnight trip with Grandma I did the same. Yet somehow when he came back, Casen was in his harnessed seat (a Nautilus) no longer installed but instead the seat belt taken out of the belt path and put around him as if he was in a booster! I almost died, it didn't fit him right at all and thankfully they weren't in a wreck, I hate to think what would have happened had they been, just by looking at how it laid on him it would NOT have been good. So I'm still recovering from that. Needless to say anyone who plans on taking my boys will go through Beth's Carseat Bootcamp before it happens again. There was another issue but we won't go into that :|

At 11pm Thanksgiving night though we went shopping!!!!!!!!!! First we went to Grapevine mills and stopped in Children's Place and got the boys all some clothes. Then over to Toys R Us, they were having a sale for Batman figures for buy one get two free! So we got six haha. Then while standing in line I saw they had a Melissa and Doug big floor puzzle on sale for $9.99...Casen LOVES puzzles and I LOVE Melissa and Doug so I grabbed it, it rang up for only $4.98!!! Awesome deals. Then we went to Carters and got more clothes. Then we left and went to Old Navy...MORE awesome deals on clothes!! This time for me and Mark too, woohoo! We then went to Target and got some more stuff. We ended up finishing most of our shopping that day and the rest has since been finished minus picking up Hayden's elmo and getting them all a few more stocking stuffers :) I love being done already it's great! Not only did we get good sales that day we also MADE money!!!! Best Buy had some sales going and we ended up getting a gift card and then money back on things we had bought recently. The gift card was $150, well I've been wanting a new digital camera for awhile, I have a DSLR and I love the thing but it's huge and it's not exactly easy to just toss in a bag and bring everywhere and we all know I'm picture crazy too so I found a cute PINK canon on sale for only $149.99 after tax we ended up only paying $12 out of pocket since we had that gift card! So that's part of my Christmas presents...shh don't tell Santa I know what my gifts are already!

This week Landon went back to school, he's now at a level 13 in reading!!!!! I did get a call from his teacher today and they are going to evaluate his speech just to be sure all is normal, there are a few letters he still has troubles with and they want to make sure it's all normal for his age and if not get him some help so it doesn't become an issue with his spelling and such down the road...right now it's not effecting his learning at all though. On Sunday he lost his first tooth!!!!!!!!! It was a huge ordeal, he was terrified but it was hurting his gums when it moved and when he ate so it had to come out. Almost 2hrs later Mark got it out ( it was loose enough Landon just kept closing his mouth lol). The tooth fairy felt so bad about all he had to go through to get it out she left him $10!!!! One lucky kid! He's now so proud of himself though, he likes that it's gone and tells me he likes having a hole in his mouth that it feels cool. Me I don't like it so much lol but it's ok. He's growing up so fast I can't believe in just a few months he'll be 7 OMG!!!!! And Casen will be 5!!! So crazy!

My children are strange.

I have decided my kids are strange.

First some GREAT news!!!! Landon came home from school today with a LEVEL 12 BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The goal was for them to get him to level 12 "hopefully" by Christmas....it's not even Thanksgiving and he's there! Yay go Landon!!!!!!!!! We got Daddy on iChat so he could tell him, he's so proud of himself!

But then later he informed me that he would like to change his name. Apparently Landon isn't good enough for him. He would now like to be called David. I don't know...I don't ask questions

While writing this Casen came to me with a dish brush, a new one, and asked me to scratch his foot with it. Why you may ask...again I don't know. I'm telling you...STRANGE

Then Hayden...well he's just strange all around. But he LOVES Ellen...like obsessed with Ellen. He will ask me throughout the day "Is Ellen on?" He likes to dance with her, he yells at me if I pause the show, he gets upset when it's over, he applauds when the audience does...it's really cute to watch. But makes me wonder...is that strange too? haha

He's also doing really well with potty training!!! Yesterday from about 2-9 he wore undies with 1 accident. Then today he's been in undies all day long, we have had 3 pee accidents and one poo one...but he's got an upset tummy so I'm not surprised. Maybe he'll be potty trained in a week or so :)

Sleep is for the weak

Or so Hayden thinks.

Why doesn't this child sleep???? It's getting quite frustrating. He didn't sleep through a single night until 15mo. Then he did pretty well for a couple months then it's just been back downhill. He had got into the habit of going to bed at 8 then in the middle of the night sometime he would come to our bed and straight back to sleep...which was fine. But now he's started waking a few times before me and Mark go to sleep, then still the middle of the night thing. I don't get it. He goes down at 8pm...me and Mark go to sleep between 12-1am...by that time he's woken up atleast 2-3 times. Usually it's just wake up, we give him a cuddle and put him back in his bed and he's fine. But it's progressively gotten worse now probably 1-2 times a week he wakes up before we go to sleep and is WIDE awake...not going back to sleep for anything. He's up for sometimes a few hours like this. It's starting to make me crazy. Tonight is one of those nights, he woke up and snuck out of his room and hid behind the wall then peeked his head around and Mark saw him so he got up to put him back in bed and noticed he was dirty...so after he changed him he was wide awake...it's been almost an hour. No sign of him going back to sleep. If I just put him back in bed right now he'd scream forever, and get very worked up....I'm not for that. Then naps lately suck too...most days barely an hour...when he really still needs 2 hours.

Can someone please tell him that nighttime is for sleeping...8pm is bedtime, about 1am is good for him to come to our bed and please sleep til 8am in the morning lol. And a 2hr nap from 12-2 please. Thanks.

The things he says

It amazes me the things that come out of the boys mouth...they are hilarious. Landon still is quite funny but he is a bit more reserved, you know with age, what's appropriate, understands more and all that...so his are more jokes now than him saying something and it just sounding funny. I know when he was Casen's age he said the greatest things, too. Now Casen though, he cracks us up all the time. I should really start writing down the things he says because I don't remember alot of what Landon did and it was hilarious. So this is my start...haha

Just this weekend

Casen's "new word" is frustrated haha. Hayden was annoying him and he kept asking him to stop..but of course he wouldn't. So Casen turns to me and says "Ugh I'm so frustrated!!!" then just walks away to ignore Hayden...no fit, no crying or whining, wasn't mean to Hayden. Just expressed how he felt and left it at that lol. Pretty impressive for a 4yr old if you ask me lol

Later that night we were all playing around, chasing them, tickling them all that. Mark had his electric screwdriver on the counter and Casen picks it up and turns to us and says "Ok who wants to get screwed up?!?!?!" hahaha it was great. He has no clue what it means to be "screwed up" which made it all the funnier

Today he came up to me and asked "Mommy, do you know what 2+2+2 is?", I say no, he says "well it's 3 2's which in other words means it's 6!" He's so damn smart! I love it, he amazes us all the time with the things he knows. I got an email about where he should be developmentally for his age and it said the average 4yr old can count to 10...and that most kids that go higher than that do it from sheer memorization and that they are just starting to realize what numbers really mean. Casen counts to 100...and not just from memory, he KNOWS them, he can identify them all by sight too. My smart little boy :)

Halloween 2009

What a great Halloween!!! I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween!

We had a great/busy day! We got up and got everyone dressed to go to the pumpkin patch. Yes late...I know. We were planning to go to one with rides and stuff but on the way we saw another that looked like it had good pumpkins so we just went there. They didn't have tons left but everything looked great and we found a big pumpkin for carving and each of the boys picked a small one. While checking out Mark was talking to the lady and they exchanged business cards so it might even mean some good business for him! Sounded promising :)

We then took the boys to get something to eat and ventured into CRAZY Walmart to get stuff for our Halloween party. Wow it was completely nuts in there yesterday. You could barely move through most aisles, almost no parking spots, long lines, you would have thought it was Christmas or something. Finally made it out of there and went home to get the house ready for company. I took the boys out on the back porch and they got to paint their pumpkins. They loved it, it was a huge mess. They were supposed to paint pictures on it but they got carried away and by the time it was done they were just completely covered in paint....the pumpkins and themselves. We cleaned up and got changed into costumes. Becky and Brad and the kids came over. They all went out trick or treating and got lots of candy. We made them some "mummy pizzas" yummy. Becky made super cute monster brownies. We all just hung out for awhile talking, the kids watched Monsters VS Aliens. Then Becky and them left around 9:30, the boys watched the end of the movie then we put them in bed.

Now Hayden isn't a fan of sleep. Every night when we put him down we have to tape his door closed...I know that sounds awful but 90% of the time he tries to open the door and can't so he goes to sleep. Some nights he cries and we have to go in and out calming him down. But every single night when I close the door he cries...usually like 15sec..gets up checks the door and is done. But he ALWAYS whines for a second. Last night he was so worn out he didn't make a sound, he just passed out! Then every night he wakes atleast once before me and Mark go to bed...usually more like 2-3 times. When we went to sleep last night he still hadn't woke up. Yay!!!! Landon fell asleep in less than 5min lol. Shows what a good day they had haha

But me...now I'm sick :( It sucks...I hate being sick. Doesn't my body know that moms are NOT allowed to get sick??? I've been coughing for a few days but felt fine, last night I started getting congested. Ugh today I just feel like poo....nothing really WRONG besides the cough and congestion just feel like crap. Now Landon started coughing last night but feels fine too. Casen started sniffling today. Funny cause earlier I looked at Casen and then told Mark "he's getting sick too" and Mark said "we'll see". I can just tell by their eyes, their face, moms just know that stuff. Well not an hour later his nose is suddenly running, he's sniffling. Of course I'm right!

Now Mark took Casen and Landon to the grocery store for me, I made him a list so let's see how he does. And as I'm typing this Mark calls....he's NOT going to the store because our car just messed up...wonderful! He thinks the water pump went out?? Don't as me, I don't know. But it's overheating now. Really sucks because we have both thought something was up with the car for a bit, on Friday he took it to a shop to have them fully look it over and they said everything was fine....now this. Wonder how much this will cost...

Working from home?!?!!!!

I'm loving Mark's job!!!!!!!!!! It was really tough at first, insanely long hours, a few nights even staying away the entire night! It was a really tough adjustment but it's gotten much better. His boss is wonderful. For all of Mark's hard work on the computer system they have put in place he decided to just let me have the macbook we got from him that we were going to pay off! Brand new macbook...FREE!!!! How amazing is that?

Then now he has suggested trying working from home until their new office is built...probably about 1 1/2mo. Tomorrow is the first day they are trying. I'm so excited about this, I really hope it works out. Right now we share a car so during the week I'm stuck at home, I'm going crazy being in these 4 walls....Casen and Hayden are bored, too. This will be much better for everyone involved. I will be able to start attending playdates again! Very exciting. It's the little things haha

Tomorrow is our first day, perfect day because it's story time at the library. Which falls great because our books are due...ok that's not fully true, they are OVERdue....oops. They were due Saturday.....shhhh don't tell. But we will go to story time and then check out some books...gotta check the playdate calendar, who knows maybe we'll go to a playdate too. Or maybe just go see Becky...gotta call her. Do need to go to the store...need toilet paper, don't let me forget

Landon's first ever progress report!!

Today Landon brought home his first progress report! This year they are actually doing number grades for them so it's his first time having anything besides S (satisfactory). He did sooooooo good! We are so proud of him! These are his grades

89% in Language Arts
88% in Science...but they only took 2 grades (100% and 80%)
96% in Social Studies
98% in math!!!!!!!

I'm especially proud of his math score he's doing so well!!!

He is even now up to a level 8 DRA reading level! He's been going up an average of 1 level every 4 days or so!!! He's been doing so good, I can't believe how much he is really GETTING it now

Tonight Mark stopped by Target to buy him a reward for doing so well. He got him a pretty awesome GI Joe toy that talks and moves...he LOVES it, yay!

We also got Casen a new toy because he's been trying so hard, learning so much. He is now counting to 100 fully on his own and can name pretty much every number between 1-100 when you point to it. He knows all letters, uppercase and lower case and the sounds they make and is learning to read more everyday. He is also learning how to sound things out to spell. So Mark picked him a new Cars race track...he loves it...so does Hayden :)

Loud noises

It's official....Hayden is terrified of any loud noises! On Thursday they were preparing for the Alliance Air Show right at Hayden's naptime..of course. Well it didn't start until a few minutes after I put him down but he hadn't fallen asleep yet....well he completely freaked out! It scared him really bad. Well it kept on forever, I held him until he fell asleep but he barely slept...about 45min. It happened again the next day. On Sunday we showed him the planes outside and he loved them but he still doesn't like the noise.

Last night it was storming really bad and woke him up and he was, again, terrified. He was really freaking out last night. He was up for a good 3hrs too scared to go back to sleep. You'd think if he lost 3hrs of sleep he'd sleep in today right???? Well of course not!!!!! I'm so sleepy today :( Oh well, maybe I'll go to sleep at a decent time...he just better nap good today so he's not too grumpy

Halloween Party

The Halloween party was great!!!! So much fun!

As most know I'm not big on partying anymore, I rarely go out without the kids so these past 2 weekends have been a really nice break but I'm done for awhile...I feel bad even though I know the boys had so much fun with Mark.

Last night was the party and I picked up Becky around 3:30 to head out to Arlington. We had to stop by and get some stuff from Steph first then go to my mom's work to give her some toys for her boyfriend's niece that stays there Sun-Friday, she doesn't have anything there to play with so I went through the boys toys and got stuff to give her. Then we went over to Heather's to get ready!! All of us had some "stupid" moments. I sat on Becky's pitchfork and broke it. I left my shirts at the house! How? I have no clue!!!! But that's ok, Heather ended up having something that looked even better. Then we had to run to Target but David had Heather's car which had her house keys so we had to leave the backdoor unlocked...well we come back and found out Heather only unlocked the top lock not the bottom haha so we were locked out! So Mary (Heather's mom) luckily has an extra key and came and let us in. She wanted to get some pics of us all dressed up so I got my camera out for her to take pics of the three of us with too....well I left my freaking memory card at home, too!!!!! It just wasn't our night lol. But once we finally got the party it was great! We all had alot of fun and took tons of pics which are on my facebook if anyone is interested :)

A spider....a monster.....

Today I found a spider in the house, crawling on a wall. It was HUGE!!!!! It was black with white spots and just all together horrific. So I was panicking trying to figure out how to kill it...called Mark as if he could do something. He told me to get a fly swatter..but this thing was so fat I was convinced it didn't have enough force to kill it lol. So then it starts crawling towards the front door...still high up on the wall. I decided I would open the door and hope it crawled out. I sat there on the couch watching it forever...I'm saying atleast a good 30min lol. I did not want to have to go near it. It kept taunting me, acting like it was going to go out but then not going quite far enough. Hayden was so into watching it, he watched it the entire time lol. He ran and got his puppy at one point (stuffed puppy) and was talking to him, couldn't understand him. But he points the puppy's face towards the door and said LOOK like all shocked. He was def telling him about the spider haha. But I finally gave in, I put Hayden down for his nap and realized the stupid spider was not going to leave voluntarily. So I got the broom...I was going to get it. I had to pump myself up for awhile lol. I had the door open still, it was sitting on top of the door so I took the broom and shoved it off and outside the door lol, then slammed the door. But the whole time I was doing that I was screaming. I'm sure my neighbors now think I have completely lost my mind, from their point of view, I was attacking the door with a broom while screaming....I'm sure I was a sight haha. But I WON! The spider is gone!! Go me

Night out with some old friends

Well as most of you reading already know, I rarely ever go out without my kids. Actually other than my birthday and Saturday it had been atleast 2 yrs. But Saturday I just felt like going out so I called up Heather and she decided on the nugget. We went out there and had a few drinks, saw lots of old faces I hadn't seen in awhile. It was actually really nice. Had a really good time! When we first got there Lil Jason and Mexican Justin were there...crazy, haven't seen either of them in a really long time! Then more people came, we just sat around drinking and talking, nothing crazy (like the old days haha). Becky even came out, but wasn't able to stay long. The nugget isn't exactly what you'd call "high class" it's a pretty run down bar but that doesn't really matter. But I was sitting on a bench, where I had been sitting most of the night and I look over and there was a HUGE roach!!!!!!!! I almost died. I jumped up and over James who was sitting next to me so fast, all while screaming. I'm sure it was a sight, but yeah I don't do bugs and this thing was monsterous! But Steven came to the rescue and killed the thing. But then he thought it was amusing to pretend something was crawling up my leg...no Steven it was not. Hung around for awhile and then this guy came in selling tamales...which I don't usually like but Mark does. I decided to get a pack to bring home to him. I left around 1 to come home and when I got here we ate some and OMG they were amazing!!! They have some green sauce that was so good. I want to go out again just to buy those things again lol. They were so good, 100x better than any I've had before

Also this weekend Landon had to learn his address, which is pretty long, how to spell it all and write it correctly. He's so smart, he got it right away, now let's just hope he does it right when he gets tested on it this week at school!

Today, Sunday, we also had to take my computer back...for the 2nd time because it can't stay connected to our WIFI network for some reason. Well Mark's boss had an extra macbook pro he was going to take back or sell to his dad, he bought it just recently for his assistant who has now quit. Well Mark asked if we could buy it from him and just pay it off to him and he agreed!!!! So now I have an AWESOME pretty much brand new Macbook Pro!!!!!! Exciting stuff!

It's been a good day! Not only did I get this awesome laptop but I also won a contest on a forum I'm on. I got to pick from the "What to Expect" books and also got to pick Hayden a pair of See Kai Run shoes!!!! I've been wanting their shoes for awhile just never bought any. So I'm super excited about that. I already picked the ones I want so they should be on the way soon!!!! I can't wait to get them.

Also this weekend we weighed and measured the boys, they are getting so big!!!!!!! Even Hayden grew, FINALLY! He is now 25mo, 33in and 25lbs!!!! (12th% for weight and 14th% for height) HUGE growth spurt for him. Casen is now 43in and 36lbs (29th% for weight and 73rd% for height). Landon is now 47 1/2in (he is soooo excited because at 48in you can ride more rides at Six Flags haha) and 46lbs (36th% for weight and 63rd% for height). Some skinny kids lol

Wonderful Weekend

We had such a great weekend!!! It started early because Mark got Friday off and Landon had just a 1/2 day at school. After we picked him up from school we went out to Grapevine Mills and I ran into Osh Kosh to look for lightweight jackets for the boys. Well they were having great sales so of course I couldn't just leave with those :) I was able to get Landon a jacket, pair of wind pants and then 3 long sleeve shirts...Casen a pair of jeans, pair of wind pants, jacket and 2 long sleeve shirts....Hayden a pair of jeans and only spent $100...not bad at all :) After that we went out to the State Fair of Texas!!!!!! This was the first time the boys had been since we lived in Colorado for most of their lives. I use to go as a kid and so did Mark so there was so much we wanted to do with them that we had done when younger. Our first stop was the ferris wheel :) The only thing we all went on. It was great, the boys had a blast. Hayden especially loved it, he was watching out the entire time. After we did that we took them to play a game and they all won a toy. Then Landon, Casen and Daddy rode a roller coaster ride. I took all 3 boys on the carousel. And then Mark and the older boys went on that pirate ship that swings really high. They loved them all but I guess they didn't realize how high the ship went and they FREAKED out!!!! They came off the ride crying, but a few minutes later wanted to do it again haha. Then it was time to EAT!!!! Pretty much the best thing to do at the fair. We set off looking for the fried butter we had been hearing about. Like I thought it wasn't what most people were thinking...a stick of butter fried...NOPE!! This was amazing!! By far the best thing we had! It was about 1/4 teaspoon of butter then battered and fried. It was really more like a biscuit fried with a buttery inside then they topped it with grape jelly (we also tried the garlic which tasted like a breadstick) it was AMAZING!!!!! If you go you HAVE to try the grape jelly version. Mark makes something similar...which we had to do last night because we were craving more of it. He takes biscuits or croissants and fills them with jelly and bakes...SO good too! We also tried fried pizza...not so good, not bad but not worth having again. Then I was wanting a caramel apple but knew it would be hard for the boys to eat but we found a booth that was doing them in wedges with hot caramel all over them so we got that, that was the boys favorite, they were in heaven. When the apple was gone they were eating spoonfuls of caramel. We told them that that was the one day they could go crazy and have whatever they wanted to eat since we are usually pretty strict about that stuff. They even drank coke *faint* granted only a couple of sips each but it was killing me haha. Then we also had TCBY frozen yogurt in the 50 degree weather, they thought we were nuts. We did a few more things and then left, my legs were killing me and I hadn't brought ibuprofen. On the way home we stopped and the boys saw Grandpa Henry for a bit then fell asleep on the way home, they were worn out.

Saturday we had a meeting in the morning that we went to then came home and just hung out together. Later in the afternoon I went and picked up Becky and we went to Gap to get me some clothes. I found out that Gap jeans fit me soooo good, better than any others I have ever tried. But I was out to find jeans and a grey sweater for family pics. I got them both plus a few extra shirts and then went and bought some boots. I love it all. I dropped Becky off and came home and Mark had cleaned the living room, fed the boys and was making the jelly filled things. We had a really good night.

Sunday Mark let me sleep in and when I got up he was cleaning the kitchen for me :) After that we played with the boys for a bit. Then we went to Costco and got some stuff, came home and ordered pizza for dinner. Then we had our family game night, Monopoly again. After awhile the boys were done playing so we had a tickle match...I WON!!!!!! Haha the boys were so worn out from laughing and running from me they passed out as soon as they hit the pillow.

It's been so weird having Mark home for 3 days...and now Landon is off tomorrow too for Columbus Day so it's an extra long weekend for me...it's thrown me off. But I'm so happy, everything this weekend has just been great. The boys have been in the best moods, Mark has just been awesome (even more than usual)...everything was just perfect. Tomorrow I think Becky is bringing the girls over to play since they are out of school. Hopefully this next week is just as good as this weekend has been.

Check facebook for tons of pics :)

Flip flops are dangerous!!!

When we had Hayden's birthday party a few weeks ago now and that morning it was raining really bad. I had to take Hayden and Casen with me to Costco to pick up his cake. I was wearing my flip flops, carrying Hayden and holding Casen's hand and we tried to walk fast to get into the store....well I slipped and fell flat on my back taking both boys down with me. It was not nice...I had to still go into the store, my backside completely soaked. Luckily the boys were just fine though.

So tonight Mark had to go out to the car to get his laptop, and it's raining. So he just grabbed my flip flops to wear out there. What happens???? He fell!!!!!!!! OMG I'm dying...since he's ok it makes it hilarious. Especially since he laughed at me when i called him to tell him when it happened to me lol. He said one leg went one way and the other another way and he screamed....he said "I hope I didn't scream too loud and no one looked out their window". He was wearing just boxers and a tshirt because it's pretty late lol. OMG so funny

Very long frustrating day...and it's not even over yet

It seems that since becoming pregnant with Hayden my patience has dramatically reduced. I don't get it. I thought maybe it was the hormones from being pregnant...but that's long gone now and still it's not so great. I've really, REALLY been trying lately. Starting last November.....I can't believe it's been almost a year...seems like just yesterday sometimes. I guess it's just a mix of everything, tons of change, it's been pretty hard on the boys and us. I feel like things are getting back to normal now though, thankfully. But I'm really trying to work on my patience for the boys. Doing lots of reading on gentle discipline and all that...which is what we've always done but more a refresher course, getting more ideas because I have found myself loosing my temper more often :( Maybe having the blog will help...somewhere to vent if needed. Starting now...

Today has just been pretty crappy. It's a yuck day outside and it makes me really tired...I have no energy for the boys today. And it sucks because yesterday was a really good day. But the boys have TONS of energy today. Got up after only a few hours of sleep last night and got Landon ready for school, he had his first 1st grade field trip today :D I laid on the couch and right as I started to doze off Casen got up so I turned on a show for him and just relaxed on the couch for a bit and then Hayden got up so I made them breakfast. Then Hayden has just been in a mean mood today. Him and Casen were playing and he bit him...he's been hitting all day and throwing things. I know he's 2 so it's to be expected....well Casen and Landon weren't like this but I know it's normal 2yr old stuff and he's getting much MUCH better at listening and not being mean but today was just a bad day for him for whatever reason. So we played for awhile, had lunch then I put them both down for nap...I just needed it today. Hayden went right to sleep, yay!! But Casen didn't want to so he laid in my bed for awhile, also played in the bathroom apparently too, didn't find that out til he woke up after he finally went to sleep. But he got into paint from my closet and got it all over the bathroom sink...luckily it was just poster paint and came right up....still frustrating, Casen is usually so good, he knows not to do that stuff but not a good day for him either apparently. Hayden slept 3hrs and Casen 2, I couldn't believe it...Hayden's naps lately have been really crappy, he's never been that great of a sleeper and still wakes up almost everynight atleast once. They got up right as Landon got home from school and he had a really good day, lots of fun on the field trip BUT it wore him out so him and Casen have been picking at each other all afternoon and Hayden's still hitting and not listening. Landon has also been driving me crazy with asking me the same question over and over hoping I'll change my mind. Today when he got home from school they had snack of toast with nutella and apple slices with some juice. (first time we've had nutella and OMG sooooo good, if you haven't had it you have to try it, new favorite here for all of us) Well he wanted gogurt, I told him no, he has since asked 6x....he thinks I'll change my mind but I have assured him I will not. But he's been doing that alot lately...quite annoying. Then just other little crap and all of it on top of being very tired and it's just a rainy day out so makes you even less motivated = crappy day all around. And it's not even 6pm yet. Now I have to figure out what to make for dinner and get that started here soon to get our nighttime routine going. I don't know yet if Mark will make it home for dinner or bedtime...hopefully he will.

I need to find some more indoor activities...tomorrow we are going to do homemade playdoh and I have a thing for homemade finger paints we might do the next day. I'm running out of ideas after this HOT summer...too hot to play outside so I used most of my ideas then. Now that it's cooling off I've been trying to walk Casen and Hayden down to the park everyday before lunch but it's been raining so much we haven't been able to as much as I'd like so I need something to do during that time that keeps them stimulated, not just playing with their normal toys. Anyone have any ideas????

End of the weekend

First Landon isn't sick, yay!!!!!!

This weekend was nice, pretty relaxing. Friday Gail and Ludwig came over to see us for a little bit. When Ludwig got out of the car, we were waiting outside for them, and Hayden ran up to the car and gave Ludwig a big hug, it was so sweet. For the rest of the evening they were all buddy buddy. Ludwig likes the boys of course but he's never really into them I guess you could say lol. He likes doing things with them, like he took them fishing and we go boating with them and all that...he's just not really a kid person. But Hayden was hanging around with him most of the night. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse and while waiting for a table they were eating peanuts and he kept helping him get them and he took him out the bench and was sitting with him helping him opening them. It was just cute. But we had a nice dinner with them, by the time we left it was 10pm and the boys were worn out! They passed out in the car almost right away.

Saturday we tried to stay home most of the day, the boys like just being home, we've been out almost every day of every weekend for a few months now. So we just hung out at home for awhile. Around 4pm we decided to go to Target to get a baby gate I saw online...my first time ever to buy a baby gate, 3 kids in lol. Hayden's my little hellion, he's a total sweetheart but into everything, very spirited and strong willed lol. So I had to block off the kitchen. Well target didn't have it in stock but we did find the boys costumes!!! We already bought Landon a SWAT officer and Casen a firefighter costume, but I hated Landon's then I shrunk it on accident so too bad, had to get something else. He really wanted to be Darth Vadar so I gave him and got it for him and Hayden is baby Yoda. I do have to say they look really cute. It made me want to get Casen a Star Wars themed costume but he's just too damn cute in his fireman costume so we didn't. We then went to Sprouts, my all time favorite grocery store. Then to Home Depot and found an even better gate than the one I was looking for at Target so we got that instead. Then went grocery shopping. Got home around 9 and the boys went to straight to bed.

Then today, Sunday, the boys stayed home all day. After lunch I took Hayden and went to see Becky for a bit...poor Natty is sick, hoping she feels better soon!!! They are getting moved, I can't believe how quickly they got everything out of that house!! I can't wait to go see her new apartment! Then I took Hayden and went to Kroger to get Boar's Head meat...YUM! He was such an angel at the store, it's amazing the difference in any of them when it's just one out with you. I mean they are great kids and very well behaved (most of the time) anyways, but when they are all 3 together they tend to pick at each other and play off each other..but when they are by themselves they are just awesome. Hayden was great though. When we were at the deli counter they gave us a sample of the 2 meats and 1 cheese I got and Hayden would take pieces of it and I had some and when it got to the last piece he would take it and tear it in half and insist I had to have half of it :) So polite! We came home and played and hung out. I made a yummy roast for dinner then we had game night...played some more Monopoly. Then had some dance time and the boys went to bed.

We have been able to have our a/c off all weekend!!!!!!! LOVING this weather!! I hope it stays around...took fall long enough to arrive in Texas! This next week should be good, I think since it's cooled off so much I'm going to add a trip to the park daily before lunch then naps...give Casen and Hayden more to do. Tuesday Landon has his first field trip of the year, he's really excited. I wish I could go but no one to watch the other 2 and siblings can't come on this one...oh well maybe next time.

Not again :(

It looks like Landon is getting sick again :( We were all sick last week and now are all better, he was the first one sick and we each had it two days so it's been a little over a week for him since he got better. Today he came home from school coughing like crazy. No fever, no congestion, nothing else right now but we'll see in the morning. I know H1N1 is really bad around our area right now so I'm kind of expecting it since he's in school. Hopefully tomorrow morning he won't be any worse.

Mark's schedule has been so crazy this week...it sucks!!!! 2am coming home, midnight, 3am...tonight he made it home around 7pm though and finally got to spend some time with the boys, they were so excited :) Hopefully tomorrow he won't be too late

Nice Relaxing Weekend

This is the first weekend in I don't even know how long, that we've stayed home for most of it. The boys really enjoyed it...I think they are tired of shopping haha. Saturday I took Hayden with me to the library and got lots of books. I got the first two books in The Boxcar Children series to start reading to the boys as their bedtime story books. I remember I use to love those books when I was younger, I really think they will like them too. After the library I came home and we had lunch then I had a hair appt. First time in about a year I've had it done, it was needed big time. I got tons of highlights put in it and lots of it cut off, I LOVE it it looks great :) I came home and made dinner and we just hung out then the boys went to bed. Sunday we just hung out around the house til around 2pm. Then we had to go get pictures developed for Landon's school project and then grocery shopping. When we got home I helped Landon with his project which I think came out cute. He had to do an "all about me" project on a poster. He chose all the pics, some of him with his brothers, one of each of them, a few of him, him doing things he loves, baby pics and we added all of those then he also chose some of his favorite things and we printed pictures from online to add them. Daddy took him to school this morning so his poster wouldn't get messed up on the bus. We also had to write a letter about him and seal it up and send it there, all the parents had to do it but none of the kids know that part so I hope he likes what we said :)

Hopefully he has a good week at school...and us here at home. Last week was a pretty bad week, he had a bad day at school one of the days, he was sick and sore for a couple of days and then everyone else in the house got sick too. Mark has it now but should be over it in the next day or so, hopefully after that we are all healthy for awhile :)

About the boys

Well since I'm starting a new blog I figure I will update on all the of the boys :)

Landon is now almost 6 1/2 and in 1st grade! He is loving school and doing great. He is in Reading Recovery to help catch him up with reading and also spelling. I can already see a HUGE improvement just from these first couple of weeks. I always have known reading would be a struggle with him, it's just not his thing, he is much better with math and hands on type of learning like science. We had a curriculum night at his school not long ago and I just love his school. He has a great teacher this year who we all really like. Apparently there was an instance at the school where a child was made fun of for still sleeping with a blanket, they weren't in his class, I'm not even sure what grade they were in, but his teacher found out about it and brought her baby blanket up to the school to show that it's ok to still need it. They then had a discussion in class about not making fun of people and she asked how many kids still have a blanket and many raised their hands so they are now taking their baby blankets to school and they are all going to take a picture together in support of that child and enforcing the lesson about not making fun of people. I thought it was a great idea, and really sweet of his teacher to make sure that child felt like it was ok. But other than school Landon is doing great, he is such an awesome big brother and always looking out for his brothers.

Casen is doing really great too, he is now 4 1/2. We do homeschool with him since he is too young for kindergarten but there aren't any preschools that are good enough around here for us to put him in. He really enjoys learning and is so smart. He is in the beginning stages of reading and getting better everyday. He also loves math and adds, subtracts, understands fractions and has even multiplied some very small numbers. I'm thinking with the curriculum I'm using he should be at a 2nd grade level by the time he enters kindergarten next year :) Right now though he is sick :( He started getting sick last night, had a terrible headache and a fever of 102 so I went ahead and gave him some meds and it took quite awhile to get his headache to finally go away so he could sleep. All day he's had a fever around 102 when his meds wear off and just generally feeling miserable. He's been complaining of really bad body aches and an upset stomach. I know the flu is going around really bad here I'm thinking maybe it's that.

Hayden is also sick now and has had a fever of around 104 each time his meds wear off :( He has the same symptoms as Casen. But both are responding well to just tylenol and when we get their temps down they feel quite a bit better. Hayden just turned 2 on the 15th! I can't believe it's been 2yrs. He is my tiny thing at only about 22lbs and 32in. He is talking more and more everyday and just adores his big brothers. He is my trouble maker though, he is a handful.
