Casen's birthday celebration

Casen's birthday was Saturday so we told him he was in charge for the day...ok really he told us, he kept reminding us all day haha.

First up for the day...baseball practice for both.  He had batting practice so Mark took him, Hayden and Preston since his wouldn't be nearly as long as Landon's and I took Landon to his which was at the same time but lasted 3hrs instead of a little over 1hr.  I'm really glad I didn't take the other 2 with me because I wasn't thinking and didn't bring sunscreen and I was burnt SO badly!  Still getting over that.

But after we got home Casen decided he wanted to have his birthday meal at Chili's so off we went.  He was so excited he just couldn't contain himself and before I could even sit down he was asking if I was going to tell the waitress it was his birthday lol so we told her and she told him happy birthday and he was just thrilled.  We ordered our food and afterwards someone came over and asked if we drove the black van...yes...a door was open..oops!  So Mark ran out to close it and as soon as he walked out the came over singing so I pulled out my phone to record it since he was missing it but also because it was the first time we'd done that with any of the kids...phone was full and it didn't record :(  He got a huge dessert which he shared with everyone.

Then he wanted to go bowling so off we went :)  We haven't gone bowling in a long time...forgot how fun it is.  We had a blast!  I forgot socks so I couldn't play so I just took tons of pics instead :)

Preston thought bowling was boring so he ate his toes instead

The boys cheering for Daddy because he got a strike

Haha Casen bowling, this cracks me up...apparently he was doing something right though because he got 2nd place behind Mark :)

Somehow Preston managed to fall asleep in that loud place

Then we came home for presents!!!

We are weird....we don't wrap birthday gifts.  It started because one year we forgot to buy wrapping paper and all we had was Christmas paper so we decided to instead just let the birthday boy sit with his eyes closed and the person who bought the gift give it to him..the boys love it and that's how we do it every year now.  Though we only do that for our gifts..not parties or anything.

Hayden's gift to Case

So excited waiting for his next gift

Landon's gift!!!  This was adorable because Mark and Landon went shopping together and Mark was going to get this for Casen but when Landon saw it he was begging Mark to let that be his gift from him he said "Casen has been wanting it so bad, I just know what he'll do!  He's going to jump up and down, give me a huge hug and say thank you SO much Landon I love it!"  That is EXACTLY what he did

Gift from Nikki...goggles and swimming lessons!!!

Daddy's gift...a voucher for a day out with Dad where he can pick whatever they do and it's just the two of them

Gift from Mommy...personalized apron and a voucher for cooking classes!!  He can't wait!

Last stop of the night.....frozen yogurt!

He said it was the best birthday ever!!  He had such a great day :)  Still can't believe my baby is SEVEN!

Casen is now 7yrs old!!!

Can you believe he's 7?!?!?!  I definitely can't!  He's gotten so big :(

Preston's first dentist appt and cleanings for the rest of them

Today the boys all had dentist appts, it was Preston's first!  The nurse called back the 3 big boys first and said she'd come get me and the baby after doing their xrays so while we waited Preston nursed and just chilled watching their fish tank which is set up just like Finding Nemo.  She finally came and got us and I thought we'd be going to wait with the big boys but she took us back to the room where he does the check-ups on kids that won't sit on their own.  We passed the big boys and they were all having cleanings done and doing great so they were fine.  We went back and the dr came right in and we were talking for a bit then they have me sit him in my lap facing me, the dr sits in a chair right in front of me then I lay him back into his lap so he's laying in both our laps, head on the dr so that way I'm still right there.  Well Preston doesn't usually like people messing with his face, especially his nose or mouth so I wasn't sure how he'd do.  Like I've said many times before, he's very laid back though so I didn't expect him to freak out, just refuse to open his mouth.  But he did amazing!!!  He just laid there watching the dr, opened his mouth and let him look all around, let him brush his teeth and put some protectant on them.  Didn't fuss once, didn't try and close his mouth, didn't try and turn away, he was PERFECT!!!!  The dr and nurse were both amazed, he did so well.  So everything is good, no issues at all, teeth are coming in as they should.  He got his first real toothbrush and he goes back in July :)

The other boys finished up while we were in there and the big boys went to the waiting room to play but Hayden wanted to come see me so his nurse brought him to me and said that it was really sweet, when he was picking out his toy (they get to pick something after each visit, plus they get new toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste..this time they got tshirts as well) that he saw something and said he wanted to get it for his baby brother <3  The nurse told him that the baby would pick himself so just pick something for himself, so he put it back then came to see us.  Well the dr was talking to him and asked if he wanted to go pick him something and Hayden shot out of the room and ran and grabbed what he had already picked...a little stuffed frog <3  He was so excited to give it to him and Preston loves it!

The other boys checked out well too, Casen has a very small cavity but other than that no issues.  Casen has to go have that filled on the 18th but otherwise no visits until October!!!!

The love the tshirts they were given lol, Casen was begging at dinner for me to let him wear it to school tomorrow...weird kids

Preston's 9mo appt

We finally had his 9mo check up today.  We have had to reschedule it 2-3 times for various reasons so we finally got in there today.  I have to say, I love his dr, she is great and really glad we chose her BUT they are SO slow it's ridiculous!!!  It took 2hrs for a well check up and we don't even get vaccines so didn't have to wait for however much longer for the nurse to come back with the shots after we saw the dr.

He's doing well though.  They weighed him with jeans, wet diaper, shirt, socks, shoes and his paci in his mouth with his cloth attached so not at all accurate lol.  So I'll give my weight from the house this afternoon.  He'll be 10mo in less than 2wks now and is 18lbs 5oz which is the 11th%.  They measured him in cm and he was 70cm (just looked it up and that equals 27.5in) which is the 17th%.  And then the nurse measured his head quickly and got 17in which had me worried because that's only the 3rd%, actually smaller than it was last time it was measured and his head has always been about the 40-45th% until now.  So the dr re-measured and it is actually 17.75in which is about the 35th%.  He has now dropped in % in all categories but is still growing and seems to be doing well and he's thriving so I'm not too concerned, at least not after she re-measured his head.

She was asking if he was hitting certain milestones and he's doing everything except he doesn't know what "no" means but we literally never have to tell him no...even now that he's mobile he doesn't mess with things he shouldn't so we don't have to tell him no.  So he has no clue what it means.  She then asked if he knew what "bye bye" meant, I said yes but he really doesn't, he is learning to wave but he doesn't really know what it means.  But I know she was asking to be sure he is understanding some language and he definitely is, just happens to not be those words.  He's pulling up now, scooting like army crawl and starting to go forward a "step" or two with his belly up off the ground on his hands and knees, he is also starting to cruise with furniture.

She told me that ANY fever over 100.4, even accompanied with other symptoms he needs to be brought in for a urine culture since he's had one UTI that we know of, it's very possible he's had more than that because he does get fevers often and not always with symptoms...our old dr never made a big deal about his kidney issues (or anything for that matter) so we weren't having him checked.  She said if he has one more UTI she's going to put him on preventative antibiotics until he sees the urologist again in June since he already has kidney problems the more UTIs the more damage is done...which we of course don't want.

She is also watching him closely due to his heart murmur.  She said right now it doesn't sound too bad.  She looked through his NICU report and he did have an echocardiogram while there and it showed that he had a hole in his heart which can be very common and resolve on it's own but if that murmur doesn't go away soon after his first birthday she wants to repeat the echocardiogram to be sure everything is ok.

Other than those two things everything checked out well :)  She commented on how sweet he was, he doesn't know her, he's seen her 2x before while sick but while she was listening to his heart and lungs he reached out and was stroking her face really gentle and then wanted her to hold him.  Sweet boy <3

This was him tonight trying to walk with the pillows and furniture, he was trying to get to me and the entire time calling out "mama mama"

He made it!
